Are you relocating to London from overseas?

If the answer is yes, let me help you to discover my top London family friendly locations. After all, London is a big city, but my Top 6 London Family Friendly Locations will give you invaluable information.  Read on to help you make the right choice for you and your family.

1. Hampstead

Hampstead Village is adorned with handsome Georgian buildings and quaint alleyways. It boasts high end boutique shops and hugely tempting restaurants and cafés. With excellent school choices and a thriving & diverse community, it is the family friendly area of choice for many relocating to London from overseas.

To help with your immersion into Hampstead life, Victoria Rennoldson will take you on a fact filled tour of the neighbourhood as well as offering language and English culture training.

2. Notting Hill

Notting Hill has been the London relocation area of choice for many expats for a number of years. It is centrally located with excellent transport links and a choice of top schools including Notting Hill Prep School. And Westbourne Grove offers a tantalising array of clothes shops and cafés, perfect for weekend indulgence.

If you don’t mind queueing for a table, head to Eggbreak for a delicious weekend breakfast in the charming Hillgate Village. Follow this with a stroll around Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens, just a short walk from the heart of Notting Hill.

3. Chiswick

Chiswick is a jewel in the West London crown that offers something for everyone. It occupies a meander of the River Thames, which attracts rowing enthusiasts as well as those who enjoy a weekend stroll along the waterfront. Furthermore, Chiswick offers a range of Outstanding state primary schools and high achieving independent prep schools including Chiswick & Bedford Park Prep School.

Stroll along Turnham Green Terrace for fresh, organic produce and stop for the best flat white in Chiswick at Chief Coffee.

Moreover, Bedford Park is an historic conservation area where you will find stunning family homes whilst being a short walk from Turnham Green tube station.

4. Little Venice

Little Venice is the most centrally located of my Top 6 London Family Friendly Locations. Here you will find impressive white stucco fronted buildings, many with stunning views of the canal. Plus, Warwick Avenue tube station is on the Bakerloo line and just a short hop to Marylebone & Baker Street.

Clifton Nurseries is a high end plant nursery with the wonderfully family friendly café, The Quince Tree.

Many top, central London schools are easily accessible from Little Venice.

5. Ealing

Ealing is the furthest west of my choices, but easily one of the greenest. There are several sub locations, but my top pick is Pitshanger Village located in the northern part of Ealing. Altogether, Pitshanger Lane offers more independent shops than most, including a butcher, bakery, local bookshop and deli. It was awarded the title of Great British High Street of the Year in 2017.

Ealing has a range of hugely popular independent schools including Notting Hill & Ealing High School and Durston House School for Boys

With the arrival of Crossrail this year, Ealing is set to be the greenest, most well connected west London family friendly area of 2019.

To sum up, if you are looking to relocate to an area that is surrounded by green, open space yet with direct links to central London, Ealing is the perfect location for you and your family.

6. Richmond

Lying on south side of the River Thames in south west London, Richmond offers beautiful Royal Parks, historic houses, theatres and an enviable shopping district.

Towards the top of Richmond hill lie some of the best housing stock with far reaching views over the river.

Richmond boasts excellent schools including The Vineyard School, rated Outstanding by OFSTED, and Kings House School for Boys.

Additionally, a direct train from Richmond station to Waterloo allows for good connections to the city. An attraction for commuters who prefer to come home to some tranquility.
